Unity East Elementary School

In August, 2002, pre-kindergarten through sixth grade students from the small towns of Philo and Sidney and the surrounding area began attending a new school--Unity East. This brand-new school was the result from the combining of Sidney Grade School (grades K-3) and Philo Grade School (grades 4-6). Sidney and Philo are about 15 and 10 miles southeast of the University of Illinois, respectively. Unity East Side Elementary School is located on the corner of Illinois 130 and the Sidney Slab Road. There are a total of about 300 students in this new grade school.
